HDPE Culverts

HDPE Culverts

HDPE – or high density polyethylene is a type of plastic used for various applications. Culverts made with this material are much lighter than steel culverts and are much easier to install. Being comprised of HDPE also gives the added benefit of not ever rusting, rotting or breaking down which means this style of culvert is likely to outlast a metal pipe. Our HDPE culverts are dual-wall construction with a smooth interior wall, corrugated exterior wall, and a small air space in between the two. This type of construction keeps the culvert lightweight while maintaining it’s strength. All of our HDPE culverts are manufactured with a 320kPa stiffness rating which is the higher of the industry standards.

Our Stock of HDPE Culverts include the following sizes:

300mm (12″), 375mm (15″), 450mm (18″), 525mm (21″), 600mm (24″), 750mm (30″), and 900mm (36″)

Plain-end HDPE

Plain-end HDPE culverts have no special treatment on their ends and require an external coupler in order to join multiple pieces together. The couplers grab onto the corrugations of each pipe and are secured closed with plastic ties creating what’s known as a soil-tight connection.

Bell & Gasket HDPE

Bell & Gasket HDPE culverts come with treated ends such that they will join with another without the need for an external coupler. Once fully seated into the bell, the gasket makes this joint system water tight which is a higher performing joint than soil tight rated.
